Cost Sharing
Cost Sharing
Cost-sharing is an easy way of significantly reducing your costs for professional photography by involving other businesses and people who would be interested in licensing the images for their own purposes too.
This can be anyone but typically includes other 3rd parties involved with the project. Such as contractors, material suppliers, product manufacturers, builders, the architect, interior designer or the project client themselves.
How does it work? When another party agrees to come on board an additional licensing fee per party, typically 30% of the original total, is added to the final invoice. Then, the complete costs are shared evenly among each party, thus reducing everybody’s final expenses for the shoot. The more parties that come on board, the more cost-effective the shoot for all involved.
Under this model, costs can be reduced by almost 50% with the involvement of only 3 other parties and will continue to reduce further with each additional one.
